Not only does it work with the PS3, but it works great for Skype on the PC. Just make sure that when you plug this into your PS3 that you change the speaker/audio settings in the PS3 menu. I forget the exact setting, but it's very simple. Also, you will only hear conversations in this headset, NOT gameplay...which is how it should be. If you want to hear gameplay too you head a headset with RCA audio jacks as well. Highly recommended.

This is a basic one-ear headphone + microphone headset that works well with gaming consoles, PCs, and online chatting such as Messenger and Skype. Just plug it into a USB port and go.
Likes:
>Fairly comfortable, cushioned mini earphone with easy to adjust headband and a retentive rubber pad on the non-earphone end.
>Flexible microphone for precise positioning.
>Good sound quality for chats only; stereo and 3D surround game sounds/music still come from the system speakers.
>Really useful for multi-player game communications.
>Volume control and mute button.
Dislikes:
>Medium quality plastics and vinyl cushions that may not stand up to heavy use.
>Priced a bit high at $24.99 when wireless chat headphones such as Bluetooth Wireless Headset For Sony Playstation 3 PS3 are available for $14.49 (at time of review) shipped from Amazon vendor.
Bottom Line:
Very useful headset for serious gamers who require a dedicated chat headphone to clearly communicate tactics and strategies. May also be used for casual video chatting/conferencing. However, there are many lower priced alternatives available from Amazon vendors. Make your own informed decision.

Since I play FPS games almost exclusively, this was a welcomed addition. Previously I had been using a Bluetooth cellphone headset (without much satisfaction).
The sound quality is great both listening and talking. I'm really satisfied. Obviously I would have preferred it to be wireless but the difference in quality makes it so I don't really mind being wired in too much.
I like that the cable is long too. Nice solid construction that looks like it will last.
